A call that was recorded, transcribed and had multiple staff listen in to follow protocol was so “upsetting” for Democrats they attempted to impeach the President. Despite knowing exactly what occurred during the call and reading the transcript Trump made public immediately upon concern, Democrats pursued a witch hunt from third party hearsay.
The very same morally inept group now shows us what they will tolerate: a secret meeting with Iran. Yes, that Iran; the tyrannical government that refuses to comply with any international treaties or law. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) admitted he was part of a group of Democrats which held a secret meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif just last week.
President Trump reacted to the news by asking reporters if the meeting was “a fact” because it was news to him. He then asked, “is there anything that I should know? Because that sounds like to me a violation of the Logan Act.” The Logan Act is a federal law that bans unauthorized negotiations with foreign governments. Democrats made it very clear that they will not tolerate any interference in American foreign policy…unless it’s done by a democrat!

Reporter Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist reported the State Department knew nothing about the meeting which occurred during the Munich Security Conference. Hemingway wrote, “such a meeting would mean Murphy had done the type of secret coordination with foreign leaders to potentially undermine the U.S. government that he accused Trump officials of doing as they prepared for Trump’s administration.” Murphy did not offer any transcript of the meeting, likely because it does not exist. Completely oblivious to his own blinding hypocrisy as someone who voted to impeach Trump, Murphy tweeted his recollection of the secret meeting.
In a thread of tweets, Murphy embellished his meeting, using phrases such as “I urged him” and “I pressed him” and then “I pushed him” all within three sentences. Sorry Senator Murphy, no one believes you had Iran shaking in their boots. Murphy then went on to tweet the most ludicrous statement “Congress is a co-equal branch to the executive. We set foreign policy too. Many of us have met w Zarif over the years, under Obama and Trump. So though no one in Congress can negotiate with Zarif or carry official U.S. government messaged, there is value in having a dialogue.”
“Value in having a dialogue?” Coming from a man who supported impeaching the President of the United States of America for a simple sentence during a phone call is quite rich. To think that for one second you value “dialogue” is comical. Murphy, continuing to dig himself deeper and deeper into the hole of ignorance, wrote: “our current policy of blind, non-strategic escalation is just making Iran more powerful and menacing, and making America weaker and less secure.”
We patiently await the special counsel and ethics investigation to begin. Certainly, Pelosi is preparing to punish her colleague and defend the constitution which she holds so near and dear to her heart.
