Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders — a “socialist” millionaire who owns three massive homes — slammed billionaire Mike Bloomberg because he has the nerve to run for president using his own money.
“We do not believe that billionaires have the right to buy elections, and that is why we are going to overturn Citizens United,” Sanders said during a town hall. “That is why multi-billionaires like Mr. Bloomberg are not going to get very far in this election.”
Specifically, Sanders was upset because former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg spent $30 million in ad buys last week.
It is reported that Michael Bloomberg’s net worth is greater than $56 billion, so his $30 million ad buy is less than one-tenth of 1% of his entire fortune.
As BizPacReview.com correctly points out, the corporation that Mike Bloomberg founded in 1981, Bloomberg LP, employs 20,000 people. How many jobs has Bernie created?
