Dan Abrams, the founder of Mediaite, made an appearance on ABC News and made the claim that ‘Anything, in Theory, Can Be Impeachable.’ Serving as the chief legal analyst for ABC News, this is a very troubling stance to take.
In his initial stance, Abrams stated that for “impeachment you don’t even need to have a technical violation of a statute.” He did this by taking a very liberal interpretation of the phrase “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Following his initial legal analysis, George Stephanopoulos stated that “we’re really just at the beginning of this process”.
This is where Mr. Abrams went off the rails and decided to jump on the “anything, in theory, can be impeachable” train.
The problem with saying “anything, in theory, can be impeachable” is that it justifies the imagined, manufactured, and “may have” facts…
The problem with saying “anything, in theory, can be impeachable” is that it justifies the imagined, manufactured, and “may have” facts that the Democrats and the media are using to justify the impeachment of a duly elected president. An interpretation of “high crimes and misdemeanors” to mean anything and everything cheapens the votes of the American people and promotes a feudal-like system where the political elite truly control everything. This goes against everything our nation was founded on and is extremely dangerous to society.
With this standard in place, every president in the future will be facing impeachment inquiries as soon they are sworn in.
