After attacking President Trump for pushing what they called a “conspiracy theory”, the New York Times has admitted that the deep state exists. They have decided to anoint these unelected bureaucrats, who hate the President, as “heroes” that deserve our “praise”.
“President Trump is right: The deep state is alive and well. But it is not the sinister, anti-democratic cabal of his fever dreams. It is, rather, a collection of patriotic public servants — career diplomats, scientists, intelligence officers, and others — who, from within the bowels of this corrupt and corrupting administration, have somehow remembered that their duty is to protect the interests, not of a particular leader, but of the American people.
Top of the list, of course, is the still-anonymous whistle-blower who touched off the impeachment drama by registering his concerns about Mr. Trump’s clandestine effort to pressure Ukraine into conducting investigations that would benefit his re-election campaign.
This is Mr. Trump’s deep state. For the sake of the nation, the American public should be clamoring for more patriots to join the conspiracy.” – New York Times
The New York Times is asking for more deep state actors to put their own political views above all else, and “join the conspiracy”. The admission of the deep state existing could be a preemptive move to try to protect members of the deep state in advance of the supposedly damning FISA report. This admission is in stark contrast with how the media has portrayed anyone talking about the deep state until recently.

Will these other media members now come out and admit that a group of unelected bureaucrats abused their power? Will they also claim that they were doing this as an act of patriotism and selflessness?
