REPORT: Acting defense secretary Chris Miller halts Biden transition meetings

Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller has put all Pentagon-wide cooperation and scheduled briefings with Joe Biden’s transition team on hold as of Thursday night, according to a report from Axios.

A top Biden official was reportedly not notified regarding the decision, but one official suggested to Axios that the delay is due to upcoming holidays.

“We had fewer than two dozen remaining meetings on the schedule today and next week,” the official said. “These same senior leaders needed to do their day jobs and were being consumed by transition activities…With the holidays we are taking a knee for two weeks. We are still committed to a productive transition.”

On the other hand, President Trump’s campaign adviser seems to believe the move was intentional due to recent Hunter Biden allegations

“Good! Joe Biden could not get even a low-level security clearance right now,” he said. “He’s compromised by the Chinese communist party.”

The Department of Defense pushed back on the initial Axios report, saying that Miller had asked for one day; however, both teams ultimately agreed to take a two week pause and return after the holidays, the Daily Caller reports.
