enate Republicans had a lot of momentum Thursday for their investigation into the origins of the Russia probe. The Senate Homeland Security Committee authorized subpoena requests for “nearly three dozen” Obama administration officials, reports NBC News. In conjunction, the Judiciary Committee is considering more than 50 additional subpoenas; any action is reportedly postponed until next week.

What has been aptly referred to as “unmasking the unmaskers” the Senate Republicans seek to get to the bottom of how Trump campaign and transition officials were “unmasked” such as former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Additional questions they want answered are why the FISA application process was so deeply misused to spy on the Trump campaign and the FBI and special counsel’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.

“The conduct we know that occurred during the transition should concern everyone and absolutely warrants further investigation,” said Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI). “There are times when extraordinary situations require action whether or not we all agree” Johnson added.

Democrats clearly have no defense, proven by their pathetic argument that Republicans are motivated by an election year. “I’m disappointed that our committee is once again meeting to discuss a partisan investigation,” said Homeland Security ranking Democrat Gary Peters of Michigan. “I’m concerned about the timing of this investigation that did not become a priority until we entered into an election year.  Peters had the audacity to say he was “concerned about the timing” showing he could not be more of an out of touch hypocrite.

Democratic senator Tom Carper of Delaware refuses to even attend the meetings, saying the committee is “trying to score political points and help a president in an election year.” One just can’t reason with these people. Trying to explain their hypocrisy to them is simply beating a dead horse.

Amongst those the Homeland Security and Judiciary committees are considering issuing subpoenas for include former CIA Director John Brennan, ex-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former FBI Director James Comey, former Obama chief of staff Dennis McDonough, former national security adviser Susan Rice and ex-FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

  1. Dear marty lopez: What a terrible piece of advice. Which I assure you I will ignore 100%!

  2. Actually I’m feeling positively Shakespearean about all of it. If Trump pulls a Julius Caesar, consider me a supporter and a volunteer. The constitutional republic has failed to preserve itself. What we have today is meaningless. It’s neither democratic, nor a constitutional republic. It won’t even preserve public order. It’s a slow motion anarchy.

  3. He’s disappointed it’s not a Dem lead fishing exposition. That’s his Jam!

  4. OK, we’ll wait and see. I hope you’re right. I’ll be happy to apologize, but he hasn’t exactly instilled any faith with his refusal to allow anyone to question Obama, Biden,or Hillary. His job is to preserve the status quo by limiting the scope of the discovery/investigation.

  5. If an investigation is not targeting Republicans, then according to Democrats it’s “partisan”.

  6. Why, they will lie when they answer.

  7. Didn’t start with obama, it started with who put obama in power, the cia.

  8. Is this slowing down judge confirmations?

  9. Where do you sense the absurdity?

  10. How do you jump to military tribunals? Just how does that happen when Barr won’t even file charges and Joint chief Milley as well as the Sec. of Defense, Esper are openly against Trump. There’s a difference between fairy tales, fantasies and realities on the ground. You think…? On what basis?

  11. You are absolutely right. This country has fallen to its knees. At best if Trump wins, we have four more good years… There after, too many Progressives are voting age. Boomers are dying off. Anarchy is taking over now.. sadly we are doomed. I am sickened by it all. Deep State is too deep!!!

  12. “Military tribunals in the United States are military courts designed to try members of enemy forces during wartime, operating outside the scope of conventional criminal and civil proceedings.”
If trying to overthrow the United States President and his allies doesn’t constitute crimes by enemy forces to you, then there’s a chance you may not grasp the distinction?
Barr represents a completely separate entity.

  13. It would appear that what ever it is I write, when I ever I do bother to respond must be approved by Gregg Jarrett. It seems I might just as well become a supporter of Black Lives Matter. What happened to free speech. Why are you afraid of opinion?

  14. As I suspected, I wrote wasted a good deal of time writing 6 or 7 paragraphs explaining why your remarks were so ridiculous and unlikely as to almost seem disjointed. I used no profanity and threatened no violence. I was respectful as possible considering how strongly I used reason and fact to dispute your assertions. I received a prompt saying my remarks were being reviewed by Gregg Jarret. Then I returned to the site to see them deleted. You have missed the benefit and chance to refute them. Gregg Jarret seems to think he knows what’s best for you and the readers foolish enough to visit his site. Maybe he can go work for twitter and facebook. They live by the censor as well. I’ll never listen to him again on TV without the benefit of knowing him for the two faced hypocrite he really is.
