New York City Mayor Eric Adams has wised up to the tumultuous result of our immigration crisis; however he still fails to take responsibility for his liberal ‘sanctuary city’ policies. In a town hall speech Adams’ words would have gotten any Republican official publicly excoriated. Speaking about migrants flooding the city he said, “I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City…Every community in this city is going to be impacted.”
“We have a twelve billion dollar deficit that we’re going to have to cut every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us. I said it last year when we had 15,000 and I’m telling you now with 110,000 the city we knew, we’re about to lose.” That doesn’t sound very bleeding heart, Mr. Mayor.
Then the racist remarks intensify: “We are getting ten thousand migrants a month. One time we were just getting Venezuela; now we get Ecuador, not we get Russia speaking coming through Mexico. Now we getting Western Africa; now we getting people from all over the globe have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come into New York City.” Adams needs to look at a map and see how far New York City is from the border and realize all the states in between are experiencing an even worse impact than his city which “will destroy New York City.” Think of all the destruction in between.
“Everyone is saying it’s New York City’s problem” he continued. No one is saying that; leaders from border states have been going blue in the face for years trying to get the government and entire country to understand the crisis. But alas, Democrats don’t see it until their policies have already gone on so long that they “don’t see an ending to this.”
